Joshua Tree Scenic Road GP
BLM calls this Joshua Tree Scenic Road, but we say that is a misnomer. The few Joshua Trees along the road are all at the far southern end. There probably were trees when the road was named, but they were destroyed by fires.
Many other trails in this Region have abundant Joshua Trees. There is a GPS - gpx track at the bottom of the page. |
Most of the land along the road has burned in the recent past, so there are a lot of charred remnants.
Do not let that discourage you from doing the trip - there are still some nice views along the way, especially the north end if you are traveling northerly.
The dead end spur shown on the map is a fun diversion. Nice views on the way back down.
